The Selected Condititions of Recreation and Tourism Development in Zamość Region

Summary/Abstract: Tourist attraction, recreation and activities at any place or region depend on many factors. In this essay the author presents certain meteorological and climatological characteristics which have a crucial impact on leisure and recreation in the open air. The summer and winter outdoor leisure time are defined on the basis of data gathered from meteorological stations operating in the Zamość region. Thanks to it the frequency of cooling factors which create favourable or unfavourable conditions for outdoor tourism in the summer time in Zamość (the number of rainy, foggy and stormy days), and the number of days with meteorological phenomena has been calculated.
