Summary/Abstract: As a result of the Second Vienna Award (1940) almost half of the territories which had been given to Romania after the World War I were reattached to Hungary. The recovered Hungarian territories brought along numerous opportunities for the fans of winter sports. The Hungarian State supported the of a winter sports center of European standards, where international competitions, or even winter Olympics could beheld. By 1944, the ski run of Olympic standards had been built, as well as the ski jump track, which was one of the most beautiful and most modern sports facilities of the period. Unfortunately, World War II hindered the action, and in summer of 1944, the constructions stopped.
