Preliminary analysis of selected investment open pension funds

Summary/Abstract: In the conditions of significant competition and the financial crisis the analysis and evaluation of performance of the open pension fund (OPF) is becoming an important element and necessary tool in making a decision on whether to change the current pension fund. This article presents a preliminary analysis of selected investments of open pension funds. Selected OPF have been analyzed in terms of variety structure of investment portfolio, in particular the sub-portfolio stock. Next, the paper conducts an analysis of OPF investment based on the value of the accounting unit and calculated on the basis of rates of return and assesses the effectiveness of selected OPF based on IRR and the Sharpe ratio.
