Summary/Abstract: This study gives an analysis of two recent movies. Fresh Air was directed by Ágnes Kocsis in 2006, and 4 months, 3 weeks and 2 days was directed by Cristian Mungiu in 2007. Both recall there cent past, the communist regime, and both have women protagonists. After discussing about recent Hungarian and Romanian movies, the analysis focuses on how space is constructed in the movies and on the way space is connected to women protagonists, to w omen’s life and their body.
