Behold the Bride of the Lamb. An Anthropological Approach to the Apocalypse of St. John

Summary/Abstract: In the interpretation of the Apocalypse, it is important to see the “eschatological vocation” of man, as one’s main task and responsibility. With God’s help, one should gradually mature, striving towards perfection, in connection with the execution of God’s plan and expectations towards the human being. In the analysis of the Apocalypse we should see the special emphasis placed on the relationship of love between Christ and the Church. This relationship is to achieve its maximum in the eschatological dimension. The following steps for the deepening of this relationship on the anthropological level can be noted: the discovery that one is loved by God; the response of love for love; the ability to love to an absolute extent. In the light of the love between Christ the Bridegroom and the Church-Bride people will be able to fully understand themselves and recognize each other and all people as created in the image and likeness of God.
