Summary/Abstract: The efficient functioning of the family as an institution that best guarantees the development of the human person requires high standards of safety. But this, in the current cultural and social structures, is not simple because various dangerous situations may occur in it. However, respecting the conditions of pragmatic anthropology can be regarded as a guarantee of the safety of the family in today’s world. To understand the family and its needs well, one must understand well its anthropological dimension, which is reflected especially in the field of philosophy. Aristotle emphasizes the importance of justice and friendship for this dimension, while Kant turns his attention to the problem of law and virtue. While anthropology as a philosophical discipline asks how one should speak about the person – as a family member also, ethics poses the question about what man should do. “Ethics of security”, as one of the forms of applied ethics, is concerned with actions serving the security of the family. In order to understand how the person acts, one must above all describe the axiological and duty dimensions of his actions, and then determine the extent of his responsibility. This creates the context where on one hand the personal dimension of life is visible, while on the other hand it is possible to formulate the basic tasks of the family. The family is probably the only institution, in which feelings and individual personality can be expressed. In the real world however, there are many challenges that a family must confront. One of these challenges is the so-called “gender ideology”. The responsible view of the Platonic Eros promotes the atmosphere of peace and security, which is necessary, in order that the family fulfill its calling efficiently.
