History and Role of the Review Székelység /The Seklers/ (1931−1944)

Summary/Abstract: The review Székelység, having the role of popularizing the Sekler region and its inhabitants,was first published in October 1931 by the renowned geologist János Bányai, who “organized,coordinated, edited and distributed the review on his own” from Odorheiu Secuiesc with the intention to create an “apolitical working space”. The review mirrored almost all fields of science, publishing several scientific articles, while its main activity still remained data collection and publication; it always strictly observed the need to be easily understandable.
