Summary/Abstract: Just returned from Paris where he had received the Architect Title from the „École des Beaux-Arts”, Ion Mincu was asked by Colonel Jacques Lahovary to build a house in a „Romanian style”. Various authors who studied the life and work of the architect assign as a complete work of Mincu the house from Number 5, Ion Movilă Street, seeking the ambitions of the volume composition and the functional solutions. Detailed bibliographic research shows that Mincu works on an existing building, bringing substantial changes especially to the main façade, combining in a personal manner elements inspired from the old Romanian architecture.
