Summary/Abstract: On December 27, 1982, the British sociologist Bill Lomax - known for his writings on the Hunga-rian Revolution of 1956 - traveled to Budapest for a private visit. Although he had a valid visa, he was taken from the train at the Budapest East Station, detained for two hours and then returned by rail to Vienna under supervision to the border. The Hungarian authorities refused to give any explanation for his expulsion, neither to Lomax nor to the British embassy in Budapest. Győző Puskás made the following interview for »gegenstimmen« after Bill Lomax's return to Vienna.
