Summary/Abstract: In the world of new technologies it is often media that “bring up” young people. They live in a world where the social media, also called new media, are taken for granted and become the tools used for their interactions with the outside world. It seems that the discussion about mass media in a changing world should be confronted with the idea of the new evangelization. The teaching of the Church may help in the education of the young person on creative and responsible shaping of the new media in the rapidly changing world. In the light of the Gospel the new technologies should be treated as an integral part of a human person, who cares about his spirituality and develops intellectually and socially. An important issue is to convince young people that the real world is not only limited to computers and that a technical device is just a means of help in the act of communication, in which the human being is most important. The new media should help people understand their own identity and open the way to God, who is the Source of all gifts.
