Summary/Abstract: This article attempts to define the concept of freedom of religion. The author begins his discussion from explaining the concept of freedom of conscience, which is based on man’s inner disposition involving the capacity for moral judgment of one’s mental states (thoughts, feelings, acts of will), and of one’s own and others’ behavior, as well as the capacity for feelings connected to this judgment, and also the experience of sensations that occur in the form of ideological acceptance (satisfaction) or disapproval (guilt). Then, the author brings closer the concept of freedom of faith, which is internally reflected in the spiritual, intellectual commitment to the fundamental existential questions and is externally reflected in showing this mental commitment through e.g.: worship, teaching, ritual practice and activities or other symbolic forms of expression involving lifestyle.
