Summary/Abstract: The article summarizes the faunistic research into the Macrolepidoptera (Heterocera) of Wieluń and the “Dąbrowa w Nizankowicach” reserve carried out in 2001–2008. 199 species from 14 families were found. Seven species were recorded in Łódź province for the first time: Scotopteryx luridata (HUFN., 1767), Triodia sylvina (L., 1761), Phymatopus hecta (L., 1758), Athetis pallustris (HBN., 1808), Eucarta virgo (TREIT., 1835), Noctua janthina (DEN. ET SCHIFF., 1775), Meganola strigula (DEN. ET SCHIFF., 1775). Zeuzera pyrina (L., 1761) (Cossidae) was found for the first time since 1960. There are six species of the Hepialidae family in Poland, two of which – Triodia sylvina (L., 1761) and Phymatopus hecta (L., 1758) – were recorded at Wieluń and Niżankowice. As the south-western part of Łódź province has not yet been thoroughly studied, this kind of research should continue.
