Summary/Abstract: The Public Health Services Public Health Assessment Project for South East Europe Health Services conducted an evaluation of public health systems in nine countries, members of the network (Macedonia, Albania, Bulgaria, Serbia, Montenegro, Romania, Moldova, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia). The reason for this evaluation was to understand the position of public health in these countries, the degree of development of the institutional, organizational and legal arrangements of these systems, and to identify the strengths and weaknesses of public health systems in order to inform decision makers decisions for the needs of proper investment in future reforms.
