Summary/Abstract: Agriculture and the rural sector as a whole are one of the components of the Russian economy which lag behind in overall reforms. However, in recent years a lot of changes have occurred, and for the most part, these have been in the right direction. This article, based on a broader World Bank study on the Russian agricultural sector discusses the current status of reforming agriculture at the federal, regional, and farm levels.
