Summary/Abstract: By means of analysis of existing research findings, the article tries to determine whether Czech schools, when fulfilling the duty to perform internal evaluation, approximate the desired self-evaluation concept of these processes. They are gradually looked upon with the use of five dimensions of school self-evaluation, further their organisational-educational character is highlighted as well as particular risk of limited view on school work as a accompanying feature of even well-mastered self-evaluation.
