Dušan Mitana in Slovak literature

Summary/Abstract: Dušan Mitana is an important writer in slovak literature after 1990, who made his first steps towards literature in the early 70's. His short stories appeared first in the young writers' magazine Mladá tvorba. At the end of the 1960's and 1970's together with Pavel Vilikovský and others, he represented a new wave in Slovak prose. His stories, novellas and novels are characterised by the contrast and absurd juncture of a simple story or experience with elements of excitement, hyperbole, secrecy and dreams.
