Summary/Abstract: Marriage and family constitute one of the greatest goods of humanity, therefore the Church prioritizes services to the family as one of it’s most important apostolic tasks. Help is offered especially to those, who, knowing the worth of marriage and family, make every effort to stay faithful to the family. Ministry activity to the family is versatile care to provide favorable terms for realizing this truth and concrete help given to the family to fulfill it’s calling. It is evident, that in it’s ministry activity, the Church wishes to reach every family and expand it’s ministry care to adoptive families, who in particular fulfill Christ’s teaching: “ he who embraces one of these children in My name, embraces Me, and who embraces Me, doesn’t embrace Me, but Him, Who sent Me” (Mk 9, 37). Christian families, which go out of their way to help the children of other families, and love them not as someone else’s children, but as their own, give a concrete service to children of those families, which are frequently in dire need and deprived of another means of survival. Therefore, Christian families in particular should be enlivened to a greater readiness to adopt and prepare for life, children who have lost their parents or have been abandoned. Through this process, the fruit of marital love is expressed, not only through transferring life, but also through the openness to accept human life and care for the life of another person, particularly the smallest. In this position, ministry to families should support and assist every family that takes on the act of adoption.
