Summary/Abstract: There are fifteen tomes which concerns social criticism, ideology, literature and culture titled Analytical themes. The tomes present an initial core of criticism, critical thoughts and the base of great synthesis in Predrag Palavestras’ The History of Serbian Literary Criticism (2008). The great synthesis is considered from the standpoint of the history of ideas in the literary criticism, which has a social meaning and cultural significance. Even though Literature and Public Word consists mainly of the public texts, interviews, speeches and of inevitable repetition of communicative ideas and personal attitudes, its significance is found in presenting the social and cultural function that coexist between the literature, literary criticism and the public word. Considering Palavestras’ point of view, the public word is presented in the tectonic changes and differ character of the leading idea, following the two last decades in Eastern Europe, Yugoslavia and Serbia.
