Conditions of Successful Market Debut on the Example of Pekabex SA

Summary/Abstract: Purpose – This article aims to highlight the importance of decisions taken by the owners and management of the company during the preparation for the IPO to its final success. Design/methodology/approach – The research is based on the case study method. Following the analysis of the effectiveness of IPO strategies on the main floor of the Warsaw Stock Exchange company Pekabex was selected as a blueprint for share market debut. The criteria taken into account were: amount of funds raised, increase in brand recognition and accuracy of IPO valuation. Findings – The result of the study is that by creating a forward-looking, reliable and realistic vision of the company and properly presenting it to investors it is possible to simultaneously maximize the proceeds from share issue and achieve a positive marketing effect. Originality/value – Beyond scientific value, the article also has a practical dimension. It is kind of a guide of conduct for companies preparing to enter the public market.
