Summary/Abstract: Purpose – The aim of this article was to analyse and assess the level of internationalization of selected capital markets of the Central and Eastern Europe. Design/methodology/approach – The survey covered twelve of the Central and Eastern European stock exchanges of Serbia, Slovakia, Romania, Hungary, Bulgaria, Slovenia, the Czech Republic, Austria, Moldova, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Poland and Croatia. In the analysis of the level of internationalization of particular stock exchange the information has been used on the number of listed foreign companies, the capitalization of foreign companies, and the value of their trading. Findings – The studies show that the capital markets of the Central and Eastern Europe show a low level of internationalization or are exclusively markets where only domestic companies are listed. Originality/value – The dual listing issue is not often discussed in the literature. The additional value of the analysis are the results of the study concerning the assessment of the internationalization of the selected capital markets in the Central and Eastern Europe.
