Summary/Abstract: The article presents the results of research on the problems of the educational sphere in the formation of engineering thinking of technical specialists, in the conditions of a shortage of engineering personnel. Conceptual issues are discussed in the article, such as the development of a doctrine on the formation and development of engineering thinking, especially training of engineering personnel at the current stage of development, the purpose of the professional orientation of education in engineering universities. The article presents an assessment of the engineering support of the technical environment. The primary tasks of the educational environment and the action plan for technological modernization of the country are determined.
