Summary/Abstract: Chronic illness and disability are a threat to the proper development of the child's personality. Psychosocial functioning of children with chronic diseases should therefore be of interest to parents, educators and other people who have to deal with them. The author discusses the effects of various developmental disorders of children with chronic diseases and shows the important role of the home and the schools in their proper socialization.
