Ethical aspects of social and economic activity in the pursuit of prosperity

Summary/Abstract: Striving to achieve prosperity and progress has been an important impetus for development of various areas of human activity. However, human activity should take into account the ethical and moral aspect of individual and social life, without which it is impossible to ensure the lasting prosperity and security of the human life. The authors try to extract and identify the important issues that threaten man’s ability to create wealth and to then enjoy properly the acquired material values. The adequate anthropological vision of man who, although an autonomous entity, is ethically responsible for the decisions made in the spirit of justice, truth and solidarity, is a matter of momentous importance. The authors conclude that ethics and morality do not threaten the development of man’s well-being but constitute a vital guarantee that the multiplication of wealth and development will not degenerate man or violate his dignity.
