Social work – definitional questions

Summary/Abstract: This article presents some of the formal determinants of the definition of social work as a practical activity and, at the same time, as a scientific discipline. It also shows a few examples of some alternative directions that the concretization of this definition may take. The main intention of the author is to draw attention to the close relationship between the process of constitution of the theory of social work and making certain decisions of a philosophical nature.
