Allusion parallels in modern Ukrainian texts: semantic features of mythological and biblical names

Summary/Abstract: The article deals with the issue of the update of allusive proper names in the modernfi ctional discourse. The functional and semantic features of allusive proper names aredetermined. Proper names are examined as a polyvalent component of the image formation,and as the means of decoding the sense structure of a text. The analysis of a semantictransformation process of the names and their stylistic value is performed.
