Online questionnaire as part of mixed-mode survey design. Applications. Challenges. Perspectives

Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to present the current knowledge on the possibilities and the advisability of the use of online survey mode in conducting surveys in the mixed-mode design. Due to the increasing difficulty in the realization of survey research in the traditional way, it is necessary to search for new solutions. The article presents the main difficulties associated with the use of Web mode, and ways of minimizing them in some areas, mainly by mixing modes in all stages of research. The solutions are based on experiments results published in international methodological literature. Eventually it indicates areas where the current knowledge is inadequate and it is necessary to carry out further experimental research.
