Summary/Abstract: The article presents the role of court managers for effective performance management in judiciary system administration. Adopting as a starting point modern ideas about administrative capabilities and performance management capacity, the analysis outlines some important distinctions in approaches and techniques, applied to magistrates and court administrators. Some specific steps are proposed to reach better performance management in Bulgarian court administrations.
