Summary/Abstract: In Caragiale’s Momente şi schiţe there functions, almost without exception, a metatextual écriture, which in perfect correlation with the special functions of the character – narrator, proposes to the well-informed reader a specific reading pact. The perfect topicality the Caragiale’s texts of such type, undoubtedly derives from the indirect comment, which in their capacity as implicit or à rebours artis poeticae, they contain with reference to literary practices and conventions of the epoch, or with reference to the making of literature as a responsible act, in the sense of aesthetic validity.
