Summary/Abstract: The aim of this paper was to analyze what are the mechanisms and techniques of science commercialization in the second half of the 20th century. The object of the analysis were the articles published in the years 1945–2000 in 5 leading popular sciences monthly magazines in Poland. 762 articles were analyzed. Several techniques and stylistic means were observed the aim of which is present archaeology as a mysterious science, based very often on the intuition, not on the scientific methods. There are mistakes in dating, the facts are distorted in order to support the adventurous character of the archaeology.
