The Literary Geography of the Central Region of Development. Research Intentions and Opportunities

Summary/Abstract: A group of researchers form „1 Decembrie 1918” University of Alba Iulia are currently working on a project (a Romanian Academy grant) on the subject of The Literary Geography of Alba County. Writers, periodicals, libraries (rare books) and memorial houses (COD GAR nr. 313). The project aims to comprise within a coherent, unitary structure some major cultural resources from the Central Region of Development (Alba County), with the intention of promoting regional literary values into the ensemble of European values. In a following step, it is suggested that, through a direct collaboration of philologists from four associated universities, the project should be extended at the level of the Central Region of Development, each university presenting the specific issues of the county it represents.
