The involvement of employees in improving enterprise – direct worker participation

Summary/Abstract: The article presents the role of direct employee participation in the process of organization development, with special emphasis on decision-making regarding OD. The article also includes the results of two research projects conducted by the Author – one in the years 2003-2005, and the other in 2013. The outcome of the research is the conclusion on the changes in direct employee participation techniques used in the two periods. It is argued that the changes are mostly due to the current trends in the economy, especially the development of knowledge-based economy.
