Summary/Abstract: The aim of this paper is to elaborate the complex relationship between entrepreneurial activity and economic growth. Most authors in the field of entrepreneurship focus on the performance increase of individual companies. However, only few authors analyze the effects of entrepreneurial activity on a country’s economic growth where clear and unambiguous link between entrepreneurial activity and economic growth is assumed. However, existing empirical researches have shown that the entrepreneurial activity index (TEA) does not necessarily implicate economic growth and that the countries with similar level of development do not have the same level of entrepreneurial activity. The authors of this paper analyze the numerous and complex factors of entrepreneurial activity in order to determine the impact of entrepreneurial activity on the growth of the national economy.
