Summary/Abstract: The paper presents the theoretical and conceptual foundations of children's participation in decisions affecting their lives. Children are seen as competent agents who can make decisions and be involved in the creation and development of the children's environment. A pilot Bulgarian study for the application of Mosaic approach in Haskovo is presented, and measures for development of children’s participation at the local and regional level are suggested.
