EVIDENCE-BASED POLICIES FOR CULTURE – BULGARIAN STYLE

Summary/Abstract: The text represents, based on a topical case, the traditional evidences used for implementing policies and reforms in the Bulgarian cultural sphere. The relative scarcity of the evidence base is discussed in the context of the underused possibilities for informing cultural policies. The ability to develop evidence-based national strategy for culture demands reaching a consensus upon commonly shared vision, ends and priorities, but also careful assessment and analysis of its current state, based on thorough knowledge of the cultural sphere.
