Summary/Abstract: The article discusses the right of access to information in light of recent cases of leakage of classified information, mainly Wikileaks. The case law on supranational level is analyzed in search of an optimal balance of two interests: the public interest in secrecy and the right to know. The importance of ECHR judgements on monopoly of information as a censorship is emphasized.
