Summary/Abstract: The aim of this paper is to reconstruct anthropological themes in the works of Lev Shestov. The relation of the individual with the world (world considered by Shestov as chaos) determines which of the phases of existence a person realizes. First phase of existence focuses on a vision of a man bounded by rational ways of thinking. A jump to the second phase is realized through the experience of tragedy. Then a person becomes an “uninhibited man”. Third and final phase of existence is concentrated on a man full of faith, who is living his life with a sense of God’s presence.
