Summary/Abstract: The paper attempts to draw attention to social consequences of the phenomenon of McDonaldization. George Ritzer’s consideration of consumption explicitly indicates how absolutely vital McDonald’s is nowadays. Subsequent market areas following McDonaldization have a considerable impact upon diverse non-economic aspects of the contemporary social organization, particularly to the extent of culture. Specific economic conditions, that are characteristic for the workflow in the value chain of McDonald’s, have been assigned to other companies. In the background of that phenomenon, a new pattern of social organization emerges on the grounds of cultural homogenization, volatility, dehumanization, and economization. Therefore, McDonaldization may serve the purpose of contemporary society research policy.
