Summary/Abstract: Granada, conquered by the Catholic Kings Isabella and Ferdinand in 1492, constructed an image of itself as the ‘mythical city’. To anchor itself within the Hispanic kingdoms, establish the autochthony of its new inhabitants, and finally organize its relations to the modern State, the city gradually developed crossed narratives, in which the oral character challenges the intellectual speech. To understand the background and the weft of these narratives during the Early-Modern times, we analyse the main elements which compose the ‘myth’ of Granada over time.
