Summary/Abstract: Sociological aspects of teaching music here mean that, inter alia, the intercultural communication can be improved through this course. This primarily refers to the representation of the ethnomusicology content the applicability of which in teaching relates to its cultural identity and context. Does the practice confirm the success of these efforts? While analyzing the question of identity and music in terms of music pedagogy, a questionnaire was conducted, where respondents were high school students from three important multicultural areas in Montenegro. The aim of this research was to answer the following question: how much do students know about the musical heritage of their people, and whether and how do they identify with it?
