Summary/Abstract: The article discusses the role of public consultations in establishing efficient cooperation between state bodies and civil society organisations. It discusses the experience of public consultations in the countries of the European Union, offers an analysis of the terms and factors of their effective influence on the process of public policy making as well as ascertains their significance for practice of state administration in modern Ukraine.
