Summary/Abstract: In this paper, the author discusses a four-step method that is used to identify, and thereby to foresee and minimize, potentially negative nth order effects associated with pending decisions. These decisions may concern actions-e.g. building a power station-or a strategic communication message related to dissuading young men from becoming terrorists-about to be released by video or social media to influence or inform or influence a particular audience. This paper describes the steps and the methods employed in some detail.
