Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the work was to identify people’s awareness of cannabis, their medical use and availability. The questionnaire was used for its determination. Based on the survey, it was found that knowledge of cannabis is widespread. The majority of respondents associate cannabis with fibrous plant with medicinal properties. Although marijuana is illegal in Poland, most of the respondents used or knew the person who used it. This demonstrates the easy access to cannabis narcotic drugs on the black market. Studies have shown that respondents have known the marijuana properties, both medicinal and narcotic. However, only a small part of them had knowledge about the Polish market for a medicine containing natural cannabis extracts.
