The Sector of Small and Medium Enterprises as the Beneficiary of the New Waste Management Model

Summary/Abstract: The article presents the analysis of the impact made by Polish waste management transformation from a linear model to a closed circuit model on SME sector development, measured by the number and structure of employment in the entities running a business related to waste collecting, processing, disposal and the recovery of raw materials. The analysis was preceded by discussing the transformation essence and its reasons, brief characteristics of waste management models along with emphasizing the advantages of the new model of this economy. The research was based on the data collected from the Official Company Register (REGON).
