Summary/Abstract: Texts are the most important aspect in teaching foreign languages. Relevant input is the basis for developing language skills, vocabulary, and grammar. Listening tasks should present samples of spoken language and the communicative situation in which the text can be used, as the situation has a huge influence on the content of the text. This paper discusses the structural and linguistic features of the texts which are suitable for teaching listening.
