Was V. Levski betrayed and by whom?

Summary/Abstract: Although more than 130 years had passed since the hanging of Vassil Levski, the issue whether he had been betrayed and by whom, was still open. The debates among historians during 1920s did not reach a unanimous conclusion. Several years ago this discussion was resumed and made a certain progress, but, as the author claims, it is still far away from reaching a unanimous conclusion, based on serious arguments and accepted by most historians involved in this dispute. In this article the author presents his arguments in support of his main point.
