Estimation of changes in structure of farms in Poland and new EU countries: methodological aspects

Summary/Abstract: The paper presents the concepts of indicators intended to organize objects described by many features of non-negative values on the same scale, i.e. ones whose values can be interpreted as components of a structure. The discussed measures can be used in information systems of both public institutions which observe structural changes and large corporations with extensive internal structures for reporting in Management Information Systems (MIS). The concept is illustrated by the changes that occur in the structure of farms in Poland against the background of the new EU Member States in the period 2003-2010.
