Summary/Abstract: The article examines the hypertext discourse in comparison with other known types ofdiscourse (conversation, written text, etc), claiming that hypertext discourse is differentfrom all previous known types of discourse as it combines conversation and reading. Theword „readversion” used in the article describes the act of hypertext discourse. The mainaspects analysed are: the definition of hypertext discourse, its history, the participants, thestructure, the words and other signes used (indexes, colours) and intertextuality
