Summary/Abstract: This study aims to make a presentation of the evolution of foreign capital in Bihor County, part of the Western area of Romania, one of the most active regions in terms of country development. The features that make this area attractive for foreign investments are considered: proximity to western markets; the interdependence of the region with other regions of Central and Eastern Europe, the proximity to the major European transport networks, the quality of the workforce in relation to the salary level, etc. Depending on a few variables, the authors distinguish four periods, with particular evolutions: until 2004, 2004-2007, the period of the economic crisis (2008-2012), post-crisis period (after 2013).
