Summary/Abstract: A common manifestation among primary school pupils is absence from school lectures. Although regular attendance to school lectures is one of the many responsibilities and obligations of every pupil, class teachers and pupils confront every year with a problem of numerous cases of absence, especially those unjustified. There is not one class council nor teacher council that does not review this problem trying to produce a way to observe pupil explanations, consider their reasons and amount of absence from an objective and just view. Experience from school practice shows that this problem is very hard to solve because of numerous factors which affect its appearance and a lack of a clear and objective criteria for absence justification. One of the means of suppressing school absence are pedagogical measures prescribed by schools rule book. School rule book is the fundamental document by which rights and obligations of the pupils are prescribed. According to it, every pupil is obliged to attend school lectures regularly, and in case that pupil is unable to attend certain lectures he is obliged to provide justification in an adequate way and in due time. According to this, we can divide absences to justified and unjustified.
