Preparing the Development of the Visual Concept of a Situational Documentary

Summary/Abstract: The technological development of the sixties led to the possibility to leave the studios with the film cameras, and go out with them on the street, creating through that a new visual style which reformulated the possibilities of the documentary film. Those possibilities - hand hold camera, sicron sound recording - were exploated by the cinema verité movement in France and by the direct cinema in the US and Canada. A new star appered on the screen: Reality.
